His career as a pianist and composer began at the age of eight; for ten years he was a pupil of Nadia Boulanger until her death. At the age of ten Naoumoff composed and performed his own piano concerto under the direction of Yehudi Menuhin. The following years saw him receiving numerous prizes and awards and making appearances as a celebrated pianist. Today, Naoumoff lives and works as an associate professor at the School of Music at the University of Indiana in Bloomington. He holds master classes in the USA, Europe and Japan and is director of a music academy.
Les cinq mouvements de la sonate démontrent l’art du pianiste et compositeur Naoumoff (né en 1962 à Sofia). Influencés par la tradition française, dans un langage moderne modéré, les mouvements Sinfonia, Scherzo perpetuo, Aria, Passacaglia fugata et Toccata exigent la maîtrise du piano dans sa totalité.
