What is a “performance lead sheet”? A performance lead sheet streamlines chords, melody, and lyrics into a single continuous layout for tablets, eliminating repeats, D.S.’s, and codas so performers can simply page forward through the entire song. Each section—verse, chorus, bridge, and so on—is clearly labeled with rehearsal markers for quick navigation. The only repeats are self-contained vamps, kept on a single page to avoid page-turning backward. The goal is to make performing easier by presenting the song in its complete, best-known form so musicians can focus on playing rather than remembering forms or tricky sections. I originally created these for my own cover band, and they’ve made last-minute additions far more manageable. I hope they help you, too.
