By Queen. By Freddie Mercury and Frederick Mercury. Arranged by Liz Garnett. Rock. Octavo. 8 pages. Liz Garnett #3628563. Published by Liz Garnett (A0.856155).Freddie Mercury can make you feel that somehow it is heroic to be a loser. This is a big sing – not so much in terms of range (certainly less rangy than some of the stuff he wrote), but challenging in terms of the stamina and performing charisma required.
The arrangement is notated in the traditional clefs for women's barbershop: treble and bass alta (i.e. sung an octave higher than written)

My choir is really, really enjoying this. It sounds wonderful, as expected from one of Liz's arrangements. Lots of ringing chords and plenty of opportunity for dynamic embellishments. It has one or two tricky passages but with practise we have been able to get those sorted. We also bought the learning tracks from Jennifer Cooke which are also excellent. Thank you Liz.
