As a beginner player without previous musical formation, it is difficult to decide which piece is suitable for my level that can represent a doable challenge. A fellow advanced cellist suggested me this collection and I am very satisfied with volume 3. Everything about this book speaks from the heart of the author: the printing, the sheet paper density, the pieces selection, etc. While I was a little disappointed that Rombergs sonata comes with only the first movement, it does come with Squires most emblematic pieces to test yourself as advancing into early intermediate.
