It really boils down to this: do you want your student to spend time struggling to figure out those difficult passages, or do you want them to spend their time getting the correct repetitions needed for mastery?
I know, some will say that "figuring out" is one of the goals for the student, and the solutions shouldn't be "spoon fed". Fair enough, but how about this for an approach: Using these editions, assign significantly more music, making sure students don't suffer from their own mistakes in addressing technical issues. Marginal students will now be successful, and will be thankful for your help, rather than resenting your corrections to their work. Top students (who would be successful in any circumstance) will absolutely soar! Give it a try!
