Originally appearing on the Dirty Dozen Brass Band's 1990 album Jazz Moods - Hot, this arrangment is based on the Delfayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra recording from 2016. Arranged for the CPFA Jazz Travelers jazz septet from Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, this chart features New Orleans "bayou funk" rhythms, with the bari sax laying down a featured bass line. It's a one-chord jam tune over Fm7, so it's a great vehicle for first time improvisers using the F blues scale or minor pentatonic. Trumpet part tops off at a concert F5.
