Excellent Piano Support for the Ensemble
This "Smooth Operator" chart is well-crafted for the piano's role in a jazz ensemble. The piano part provides a solid harmonic and rhythmic foundation, driving the "medium Latin rock groove" without overcomplicating things. It perfectly supports the melodic lines and soloists with clear chord changes, allowing the rest of the ensemble to shine. A great part to play.

Smooth Sailing with Sade!
As an adult learner, I absolutely loved playing this arrangement of Sade's "Smooth Operator." The "Easy Jazz Ensemble Series" truly makes it accessible. The Latin rock groove is so much fun to play, and feeling like I'm part of a real jazz band is incredibly rewarding. It sounds fantastic and is perfect for a weekend session with friends. Highly enjoyable!

Excellent for Developing Jazz Ensembles!
This arrangement of "Smooth Operator" is a fantastic resource for high school jazz ensembles. As part of the Easy Jazz Ensemble Series, the difficulty is perfect for skill building. The clear engraving and inclusion of sample written solos make it excellent for teaching improvisation basics and solidifying the Latin rock groove. Highly recommended for school and community groups.

Nice and easy piece
We got he music sheet from our drummer. While we usually have difficult music, this one was so nice and easy to get through. You can play it softly almost all along, extend some nice solo features and moreover it is usually well known to the audience. Although it is only grade 2, it is one of our favorites.
