Sleigh Ride is the last of a set of 3 German dances written by the famous classical composer in the final year of his life, oboe, originally for small orchestra. Mozart actually used the term Die Schlittenfahrt for the trio section, the set includes a clarinet alternative to the horn part and a bass clarinet option to the bassoon. The existing oboe part could also be played effectively on flute.
