"Sleep My Child," the third anthem within the Cantata Prophecy: A Musical and Dramatic Telling of The Birth of Christ, is from the viewpoint of Mary as a new mother. The anthem expresses her love and joy to be the Christ Child's mother but also her insecurities. The anthem is truly powerful when the choir enters by asking the question "do we deserve His precious love?"
This Anthem can be performed alone as part of Christmas or Christmas Eve services or for concert use.
