With melody by J. B. Dykes and words by Edward Caswall, this lovely English carol from the 19th century is arranged for soprano, violin and piano. Its soaring melody and substantial text make it a perfect choice for Christmas concerts, or as a prelude or offertory in church services. The violin part could also be played on flute. The live recording has some background noise from a baby in the first minute or so, but it gets better, and is preferable to a MIDI recording! Two copies are required for performance.
