Based on themes from Beethoven’s Symphony No 6, “Sixth Sense” begins just like the original, but then quickly takes a wrong turn. That one “wrong” note (you’ll hear it) signals “this is not your grandmother’s Beethoven”. The piece also makes creative use of Beethoven’s repeating figuration patterns, converting them with a few expertly placed note changes into quite bluesy sounding figures.
