Sing to the Lord of Harvest by Sandy McIntire 3-Part - Digital Sheet Music

By Sandy McIntire

Sing to the Lord of Harvest

Sing to the Lord of Harvest by John S.B. Monsell, an English poet, was written to the tune of the German song, Wie Lieblich Ist Der Maien by Johann Steurlein. This arrangement is for an Intermediate SAB (soprano, alto, bass) Choir with a piano accompaniment. It is appropriate as an anthem and processional, particularly for Thanksgiving, but appreciated in worship services and programs year round. In simple, vivid language derived from biblical images in Psalm 65, these verses thank the Lord for a bountiful harvest and offer God the harvest of our lives. The tune was composed in 1575, and it reflects the close harmonies of moving melody lines popular in the 16th Century. The second verse provides an optional opportunity for singing a cappello. A separate sheet for voices is provided along with the score.
