An accessible addition to your Christmas program!

This anthem can be put together using 3-part any combination voices. It introduces three short, independent melodies (one of which is just 'The First Noel'), which then are with two together, and finally with three at the same time. We had our tenors learn one part, our altos & basses took one, and the sopranos sang 'the First Noel' part, and it worked wonderfully for our group. After getting a handle on the little melodies, you can sing through pretty much the whole thing after a practice or two, with all but the last page and a half really needing much attention at rehearsal. This anthem could work with a choir of pretty much any size or skill level, or voicing combination (all of which can be challenges for the average church/parish choir). This was a nice addition to our Lessons and Carols program in 2019, and is one that we will definitely come back to in a future year! Recommended.
