Copland had done such a wonderful job with that tune in Appalachian Spring. So I tried several treatments and came up with these 3 variations which seemed to work. They were somewhat cinematic in style.

I am by no means a professional piano player. I took lessons as a kid and only play at home for fun. I was looking for an arrangement of Simple Gifts that would be relatively easy for me to pick up yet still sound beautiful. This was exactly what I was looking for. It's a pretty arrangement. Starts in b flat and ends in f sharp. Just the right level of challenging for me and I'm sure I'll get it down perfect with a little practice. It would even sound pretty in church or at a special event. I would consider it early intermediate to intermediate level. Definitely recommend.
