This piece is well known from being featured in the orchestra piece Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copeland in 1944 though it dates back to the 1800s when it was composed by a member of a Shaker religious sect from Maine. This song can be heard today in churches as well as bluegrass festivals. I wrote my arrangement with chords that best suited my ear. I recorded my demo/video at a moderate tempo though it can go slower or faster depending on the mood you wish to produce. I wrote very few finger markings leaving it up to the player or student to work out with their teacher. This song is short and sweet, enjoy !
