The song is originally written in the 1800s by Joseph Brackett an Elder of the Shaker religious sect in Maine. This music has and continues to be performed throughout the world in many different musical styles. My arrangement features the guitar playing the melody over my reharmonization. The tempo stated is not to be taken literally.
The performer can set the tempo according to the desired mood. This tune can be played as an up tempo bluegrass piece or a slow solemn meditative instrumental so choose your mood!
