This lush setting of Silent Night has a flowing feel as the piano meanders in an adjusted chord pattern. The women sing the first verse in unison, and the men sing the second as a duet with the women joining in towards the end. The final verse is where we achieve full SATB harmonies. At the end, the chords modulate up and up until a satisfying high chord, then back down for a peaceful resolution. Perfect as a final piece in choral concerts and for churches looking for a fresh take on an old classic.
Also available in piano/vocal and SSA with piano accompaniment. An arrangement without the modulated ending is also available in SATB and SSAA acapella. A similar accompaniment can also be found in the arranger's settings of The First Noel/Silent Night and The First Noel/Away in a Manger. The audio demo is taken from the final verse and tag.
