The word “shivaree” also has a meaning in English folklore as “rough music,” where all sorts of banging and clanging were bestowed on “wrongdoers” in the community. This Shivaree is neither clamorous nor rough, but has an energetic, bluegrass feel that should be “fiddled” in a light and joyful manner.
