Shapes werd geschreven in opdracht van de gemeente Smallingerland ter gelegenheid van de ONFK 2018 te Drachten. Uitgangspunt voor deze compositie is de kunstbeweging De Stijl die honderd jaar geleden werd opgericht en ook in Drachten (hoofdplaats binnen de gemeente Smallingerland), zijn sporen heeft nagelaten. De compositie bestaat uit 3 delen waarbij telkens een kunstenaar uit deze beweging centraal staat.

Shapes was commissioned by the municipality Smallingerland and written for the ONFK 2018 in Drachten. The starting point for this composition is the art movement De Stijl, which was founded a hundred years ago and has left its marks in Drachten (main town within the municipality of Smallingerland).The composition Shapes consists of 3 parts and each part represents an artist from De Stijl movement.

Shapes a été commandée par la municipalité de Smallingerland et écrit pour le ONFK 2018 de Drachten. Le point de départ de cette composition est le mouvement artistique De Stijl, qui a été fondé il y a cent ans et a laissé ses marques à Drachten (ville principale de la commune de Smallingerland). La composition Shapes se compose de 3 parties et chaque partie représente un artiste du mouvement De Stijl.

Shapes ist ein Kompositionsauftrag der Gemeinde Smallingerland für die Offenen Niederländischen Fanfare-Meisterschaften (OFNK) 2018 in Drachten. Ausgangspunkt für diese Komposition ist die Kunstrichtung De Stijl, die vor 100 Jahren begründet wurde und in Drachten (wichtigste Stadt in der gemeinde Smallingerland) ihre Spuren hinterlassen hat. Die Komposition besteht aus drei Teilen. Jeder ist einem Künstler aus De Stijl gewidmet.
