Published by Peter Stove (A0.1837723).Arrangement for string quartet of the song ‘Seven Days’ by Sting, from his 1993 album ‘Ten Summoner's Tales’. The song is in 5/4 time, but in particular the drum part in the original version contains many rhythmic shifts to maintain a good groove. In this arrangement, all these rhythmic shifts are incorporated into the accompaniment figures. This makes the piece challenging to play in terms of rhythm. The harmonics are written as they sound; they can also be played ‘ord’ without vibrato. An excellent addition to the pop repertoire of more ambitious quartets. If you “put your teeth into it”, playing this piece can be very rewarding.
