This is a saxophone quartet arrangement of the band work Sentimentale (Brain/Bravo Music). The original composition is a chorale etude written for Shinichiro Tagawa, a major supporter of the Japanese school band scene. Its world premiere was in March 2015 by Funabashi-higashi High School, guest conducted by Mr. Tagawa. In May of the same year, it was featured and introduced as a new publication at the Japan Band Clinic. At that time Mr. Tagawa asked about doing an arrangement for saxophone quartet. The renowned saxophonist Makoto Asari was listening to the conversation and asked me to write it for his Vive! Saxophone Quartet. This arrangement was premiered at their concert in June 2015 as an encore piece. It is a fun and exciting work suitable for various ability levels, enjoyable for performer and audience alike.
(Satoshi Yagisawa).
