Excellent Melodic Presentation for a Band Setting
While this is a concert band arrangement, the skillful presentation of iconic "Mary Poppins" melodies like "Feed the Birds" and "A Spoonful of Sugar" is notable. Ted Ricketts provides a full, yet clear, accompaniment texture that beautifully supports the primary melodic lines carried by various instruments. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Fun!
Playing these "Mary Poppins" selections with my community band is pure joy! The medley includes all the classics like "Step in Time" and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Ted Ricketts has done a wonderful job capturing the spirit of the Disney movie. The Grade 3 difficulty is perfect for an adult learner like me—challenging enough to feel accomplished but totally achievable for weekend band practice. Highly recommend for a fun, engaging experience!
