Scriabin's Etude - Score Only by Alexander Scriabin Full Orchestra - Digital Sheet Music

By Alexander Scriabin

Scriabin's melancholy Etude in C-sharp Minor (Op. 2 No. 1) here expanded into an orchestral version. The instrumentation follows the orchestral size and rules of the early Scriabin/late Tchaikovsky period in Russian classical music, with special solos for the French horn, Oboe, and of course: the Cor Anglais. These instruments were adored by the Russian romantic composers especially in a low-mid range, giving these instruments extra sadness and dark colours. This makes the music sound very organic to Scriabin's original intent. My orchestration of this piece was greatly inspired by the arrangement of Leopold Stokowski, the great maestro-conductor and arranger of many works. His version you can find on YouTube. As a salute to Stokowski I copied his idea of the Tubular Bell (in the very last bar) - making the funeral/ominous sentiment of this work complete.Would Scriabin have liked the orchestration?I hope you will like it!orchestral samples by NotePerformerorchestral arrangement by Jochem le Cointre
