Se hicieron ocho encargos a ocho compositores catalanes bajo el titulo de Variaciones sobre el tema del Impromptu en la bemol mayor de Schubert. Xavier Montsalvatge creo una pieza breve para piano de dificultad alta; los demas compositores a los que tambien se les hizo dicho encargo y cuya obra esta publicada en Boileau son: Jordi Cervello, A Franz Schubert.
