The piece "Scherzando para Mano sinistra" was written at the request of guitarist Nicola Yasmin Stock, for her recording project with pieces written only for the left hand. I composed the piece, as the title suggests, with a Scherzando character, because doing everything with only the left hand can have an almost humorous aspect. I used, as usual, odd 5/8 rhythms varying 2+3, 3+2, also using hemiolas and a modal-chromatic language.

J’ai composé la pièce, comme le titre l’indique, avec un caractère de Scherzando, car faire tout uniquement avec la main gauche peut avoir un aspect quasi humoristique. J’ai employé, comme à mon habitude, des rythmes impairs 5/8 en variant 2+3, 3+2, en utilisant aussi des hémioles et un langage modalo-chromatique.
