Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. This edition: pdf. 19th Century, Romantic Period. 111 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1137746. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1565651).

The Russische Marsch-Fantasie (Russian March Fantasy) was originally intended by Johann Strauss Jr. for another trip to Russia, hence the name of the piece. However, Strauss preferred to visit the United States of America for the World Peace Jubilee and an International Music Festival in Boston. The breach of contract by Strauss led to a civil lawsuit and ended with a fine for the composer. The piece premiered on 12 September 1872 in the Schwenders Neue Welt amusement park in Vienna conducted by Eduard Strauss. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "New Year's Concert" on 6 January 2012 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria.
