Arranged by an orchestra teacher with school orchestras in mind, instrument parts contain bowings and fingerings to help students and save time during rehearsals. Originally released in 1985, Running Up That Hill reached the top of the charts in 2022 after being featured on the Netflix series, “Stranger Things.” Violin 1 and Viola 1 are identical parts to offer melody to strong violists. Range is D string to D on the A string with only two low 2 fingerings. Violin 2 and Viola 2 are not identical, but both provide harmony with a range from D string to B on the A string. Violin 2 has a few notes on the G string. Cello and Bass add a bass line and exciting driving rhythm. Cello range is from C (natural- no extended 4) to B on the A string. Bass range is from C (natural) on the A string to E on the D string. (no shifting).

Running up that hill
I like that this arrangement has two viola parts (one is optional). This way my advanced viola players can play the same as the violin 1.
