Rujero and Villano are two short pieces that I have arranged for guitar quartet from the repertoire of Gaspar Sanz (1640 - 1710). These two pieces were originally composed for solo guitar. I have taken a few liberties to expand the texture to four parts while maintaining the original voice leading and musical spirit. They are in the same key and can be easily programmed together.
Full score and individual parts included.
I have tested these pieces on my guitar students (beginner to advanced). They found their parts easy enough to sight-read. These two pieces are a great way to introduce new students to the fundamentals of guitar ensemble.
