This is the piano accompaniment track for Romberg’s Sonata in E minor for cello. It has been recorded at a comfortable tempo of quarter note = 112, making it ideal for both practice and performance. It begins with a 2 bar introduction of E minor chords to give the soloist time to come in after starting the track and includes the repeat at measure 45. Romberg was a well respected German cellist and composer from the classical period. This work is a rite of passage for many young cellists and features shifting up to the halfway harmonic on the A string, as well as fast triplet passages, making it a great piece for the advancing intermediate cellist. Performed by Wendy Hellmann.
