Baksa's Romance is obviously written with the viola's voice in mind. Lush, flowing lines are plentiful, juxtaposed with a waltz-like dance with the piano. Baksa makes good use of his contemporary compositional skills, but was never one to shy away from a beautiful melodic line! Both solo and piano parts are playable by advanced intermediate performers.
