This mass was composed in 2008 in memory of Fr. Richard McCaffery, S.J. It uses the text from the 1973 english translation of the mass. The one I grew up with, know, and love. When the new translation came into effect, I considered revising this work, but given that it is a concert work and not liturgical, and it is the form of the mass we celebrated under Fr. McCaffery, I decided to leave it as is.
