Dr. Tom's Charts / Telematic Studios #1391282. Published by Dr. Tom's Charts / Telematic Studios (A0.1831545)."Rolling in the Deep" is Adele's explosive, soul-infused powerhouse from her landmark 2011 album 21, featuring one of the most commanding vocal performances and instantly recognizable piano-driven grooves in modern pop history. "Rolling in the Deep" is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced bands ready to tackle a song that demands both raw emotional intensity and rock-solid musical tightness. The guitar work is driving and percussive, built on a relentless rhythmic chug that fuels the song's momentum and teaches musicians how to maintain energy and consistency across a full performance. The bass and drums lock together with a deep, stomping pocket, requiring a commanding low-end feel, dynamic build through verses and choruses, and the ability to push and pull tension with control. For singers, "Rolling in the Deep" is one of the great modern showcases — demanding powerful chest voice, gritty emotional delivery, precise rhythmic phrasing, and the ability to build from restrained verses to an all-out belting chorus without losing control. The song's soulful fire and anthemic release make it an absolute showstopper that reveals a band's ability to harness raw energy and deliver it with precision and conviction.
A NOTE ABOUT DR. TOM’S CHARTS™
DR. TOM’S CHARTS™ help musicians make more music together. Inspired by the Nashville Number System and the classic Rise Up Singing, these charts emphasize song form with lyrics overlaid on top of evenly spaced chords. These musical roadmaps let you focus on what you love: vocal delivery, groove, harmonies, feel, and more! You can even experiment with different styles and meters.
In the HYBRID chart, the first chord of each line aligns with the first word or syllable on the downbeat, highlighting pickups and delayed entries. Subsequent chords may not align exactly with every word, but once the singer nails the entry, everything locks in! This format might look unfamiliar at first, but evenly spaced chords improve groove and accuracy. The harmonic rhythm guides the melody! For singers, the LYRICS ONLY chart provides all the words with rehearsal cues (intros, verses, bridges, solos).
Keep on jammin’!
