You can’t have a Christmas party or a Christmas concert for that matter without this foot-tapping hit by Brenda Lee from 1958! It’s a song that spans generations thanks to the film, Home Alone!
The bass part sings a double bass line and is the foundation to the rest of the parts, they’ll really need to ‘swing’ those notes.
Tenors and sops will also be helping with the off-beat syncopation while the Altos have the melody for the main part of the song. I like to give the altos the melody as often as I can to allow them to have a chance to shine. For the middle 8 section the melody is passed to the sops.
