Using words by Cecil Alexander, Lloyd Larson has created a joyous anthem to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. The spirited 6/8 is punctuated at times with syncopations, creating interest and rhythmic fun. A contrasting middle section in minor explores fear, sadness, and Christ's suffering with unison singing, then gives way to cheerful Alleluias. The original joyous theme returns with a modulation, and the piece finishes with a high moment of praise. The optional trumpet part adds a festive quality. Part for Bb Trumpet is included.
