The rigaudon is a French Baroque dance with a lively duple meter. The music is similar to the bourrée, but the rigaudon is rhythmically simpler, and originated as a sprightly seventeenth-century French folk dance.Rigaudon should be treated as an ensemble piece and may be performed as such with one player per part.
