Rhythm worksheets that slowly get more difficult, ideal for beginners, but the later pages are also useful for advanced players who want to work on difficult rhythms.
Concepts included:
– Multiple time signatures, especially 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8
– Duplets, triplets, quintuplets
Tips:
1. On a rest, often I will make a body movement that just makes no noise such as a foot stomp, head nod, sniff in, dance, etc... That way there are no such thing as rests, just movements that make noise and movements that don't. These also have the added benefit of cueing other musicians.
2. Broken note head flags are a sign of a difficult syncopated rhythm.
