Reminiscent is a string quartet piece written for the CSUN Begining Composition assignment. The piece was performed and recorded by the Los Angeles based string quartet "Isaura String Quartet". The piece is based on an imaginery film of an old man who sees memories of his life while flipping through a scrapbook. Each page he turns, he grows older and older, until he realizes there's just one page left in the book. He is laying in a hospital bed and has the nurse take one last picture of him to put on the last page before he finally takes his last breath. This piece is great for string quartet's that want a modernist approach to music with a cinematic touch. The piece tells a story through powerful musical ideas and is perfect to be brought to life by a string quartet.
