I started to play guitar while listening to the records of Marcel Dadi and Chet Atkins. I was 14. Sharing a moment with either of them was nothing but a dream in those days. The dream came true in 1988 after Marcel's show at the Olympia, then each year at Issoudin, and then again in Marcel's last CD "Country Guitar Flavor" in which he invited me to share a title. In 1991, I met Chet Atkins.
Since those day, I've been arranging and composing at the intersection of all the styles that have helped me build a more personal musical universe. However, the persisting flavor of the friendship I had the pleasure to share with Marcel may show through a little more.
No one can tell what might have happened had I not come across their music, what influence I might have gobbled up, for this is a case of greediness - an insatiable hunger and unquenchable thirst that have shaped my technique, have inspired me by the musicality and generosity springing out of their six strings.
This CD/album is my own way of thanking my elders for the knowledge and love of music they have passed on to me. It is also a mirror reflecting my first passions, still lingering in my heart, popping from the tip of my fingers here and there.
