"Rejoice the Lord is King" uses the sterling text of Charles Wesley and begins with a soaring and vigorous theme that quickly divides into four part. A more lyrical theme is developed in the central section. The energetic style of the opening returns and the final verse is set in a joyous G major with a glorious setting of the text, "...again I say, rejoice" in the last measures of the work.This piece makes a stirring praise anthem for any season.
