Like a cool breeze on a summer morning, this is a stunning setting of the scriptures commonly known as "The Beatitudes." Opening with gently flowing accompaniment, the choir women enter in unison, "Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Next, the men join forming rich harmonies, underscored by the deepening motion of the accompaniment. Ebbing and flowing with each verse, the choir builds to a powerful final verse.
