Music and text adaptation by Glenn Pickett

Like a cool breeze on a summer morning, this is a stunning setting of the scriptures commonly known as "The Beatitudes." Opening with gently flowing accompaniment, the choir women enter in unison, "Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Next, the men join forming rich harmonies, underscored by the deepening motion of the accompaniment. Ebbing and flowing with each verse, the choir builds to a powerful final verse. An outstanding choice for choirs of distinction!

Beautiful Piece
Our choir enjoyed this piece. That being said, as an amateur choir, it was a little to difficult for us to master in the short time frame we had to learn it. The harmonies are a little tricky so you can't just phone this one in and sight read it cold. We only had a week to learn it and it showed in our performance. We loved the piece so much that we are anxious to do it again and nail it!
