Alexander Reinagle wrote these pieces for his pupils in England and Scotland. When he came to the United States in 1786 he brought the music with him to use in his American studio. This volume contains 24 charming pieces written in various tempi and styles for the late elementary/early intermediate level pianist. While Reinagle's original fingerings have been retained, dynamics and articulation have been added by the editors in this piano edition.

Small print/Difficult to Read
This work is for beginners. The music is fantastic, both pleasing on the fingers and the ears, but the notes are very small. This poses a barrier to entry for youth beginners, and the book is unfortunately unusable with them. There is another edition on this site, which is much better, albeit more expensive.

Very popular with students
This book is very popular with students. They always comment on how much they like it. It uses both hands at the same time in some very simple yet pleasing ways. Pieces increase in difficulty level quickly though, with the first six being suitable for beginners and the last ones being more intermediate.
