This arrangement is structurally based on a treatment which appeared in a longer, accompanied choral work: Southwestern Suite [RBM-112]. The harmonies and general style of the setting were retained, substituting more extensive choral voicings for the piano texture in the alternate work.
The sound clip is an excerpt from the choral-orchestral version of the longer work just mentioned. The harmonic design and overall mood of this unaccompanied extract is similar, and its emotional effect on an audience comparable.
