Reconcile by Kyle Pederson 2-Part - Sheet Music

By Kyle Pederson

This original text on reconciliation provides an accessible jumping off point for your church or school choirs to explore what reconciliation might look, feel, and sound like in your particular circumstance. Reconciliation is needed community-wide, to speak into racial injustice, economic inequity, and political polarization. And reconciliation is needed on a more individual level, too, as we seek to build a caring community in our schools, neighborhoods, and congregations. This melodic piece (with multiple voicings for various kinds of choirs) blends elements of pop and gospel, and provides an optional descant layer in Swahili to reinforce the universality of its themes. Separate voicings can be sung simultaneously for combined choirs/festivals, and space is provided for optional narration to further explore the concept of reconciliation. A flexible, timely, and entirely accessible piece with piano and optional drum accompaniment.
