It was recorded by the Musique des Gardiens de la Paix conducted by Désiré Dondeyne on 4 March 1977 and was awarded a First Prize at the E.R.U. (European Radio Union) contest. The rhapsody was published in 1978 and dedicated to his American friend Professor Al Wright, conductor of the Purdue University Band. The latter recorded the composition in 1979 as it had already recorded the Festival à Kerkrade Jan Molenaar conducting in 1971 and the Parade Concerto with the composer at the piano and Jan Molenaar conducting in 1973.

La Rapsodie Symphonique, écrite en 1976, est une commande de Radio France pour le Concours Européen de Radiodiffusion. Enregistrée le 4 mars 1977 par la Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de la Préfecture de Police de Paris sous la direction de Désiré Dondeyne, cette oeuvre fut primée au concours de l'Union Européenne Radiophonique (U.E.R.). Editée en 1978, elle est dédiée au chef d'orchestre américain Professor Al Wright qui dirigeait les orchestres de la Purdue University et qui l'a enregistrée avec le Purdue University Symphony Band en 1979 (Tout comme cet orchestre avait enregistré Festival à Kerkrade sous la direction de Jan Molenaar en 1971 et le Parade Concerto avec le compositeur au piano et sous la direction de Jan Molenaar en 1973.)
