Haydn’s String Quartet, Op. 42 was written in 1785. The referenced edition was the 1982 Dover Publications reprint of the Ernst Eulenburg Ltd. publication. This arrangement retains Haydn’s original scoring throughout (Cornet 1 = Violin 1, Euphonium = Cello, etc.). The keys were lowered one whole-step for brass comfort.
