I composed Punchline for the Illinois Music Education Association Composition Contest, getting 2nd place in the respective category. There isn't really a story to Punchline, it's more of a fun jazzy exciting piece for the players to play and the audience to enjoy. It's in a minor blues key, switching to then a major key at some points, but going right back into the explosive minor blues key again. You'll hear the low brass blasting away, the upper woodwinds flying away, the horns and saxophones soaring, the trumpets doing their normal "trumpety" things, and most notably, the drum set hammering away!
