The Psalms without Words series was developed for instrumentalists in finding their own distinctive musical voice by conveying the spirit of the psalm texts. The first piece, "Reverie-Psalm 23:6 I will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life" is reminiscent of Satie's Gymnopedies. "Rondo-Psalm 122:1 Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord" is a spirited dance with a references to Mozart's "Rondo alla Turca".
