Promenade V Oboe Solo - Digital Sheet Music

Promenade V is the fifth and last in a series of pieces based on the set of five large steel sculptures by Anthony Caro (1996). Caro's Promenade constructions are on permanent display in Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Promenade V is flexibly scored for any solo treble clef instrument, though it was originally conceived with solo oboe in mind. The piece explores irregular rhythms and highly chromatic pitch material, having derived more general musical shapes from the contours of the aforementioned sculptures. Promenade IIa and Promenade IVa by the same composer are also available via Sheet Music Plus. The piece is technically quite demanding and therefore is best suited to higher-grade students and advanced players. Duration: 2 minutes 50 seconds.
