One of two classical guitar sight-reading classics
This slim volume is considered one of the two classics for improving advanced sight-reading for classical guitar. It is *not* an introduction to sight-reading on guitar, which is better left to books like Robert Benedict's Sight-Reading pair of volumes or (more recently) Guitar Sight-Reading (vols.) 1 and 2 by Martin Beech and John Kember. Alternately Dodgson's own At Sight takes the student up through about intermediate level. The folio is comprised of a series of 100 short exercises. One of the principal topics addressed is reading in different positions, with and without open strings, and learning the fingerboard through this process.I am not sure where one of the previous reviewers got the impression the text is weirdly handwritten as it is typeset and printed (as one would expect from Ricordi).
